Three Pitt people are nominees for this year's Dapper Dan Sportsman &
Sportswoman of the Year.
Head men's basketball coach Jamie Dixon is up for the Sportsman of the Year award. In his fourth year as head coach of the Panthers, Dixon has led Pitt to a 17-3 record and No. 6 national ranking this season.
Women's basketball coach Agnus Berenato, last year's Sportswoman of the Year honoree, is again a nominee as she has led Pitt into the national rankings with a 15-3 mark. Also up for the Sportswoman award is junior center Marcedes Walker, a first team All-Big East performer who recently scored her 1000th career point.
