Levon Kendall Is My Hero

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe I heard Levon “Air Bud” Kendall getting cheers tonight?

Levon showed what should be expected on a senior night. He got fired up and gave us a hell of a night. He was a single rebound short of a double-double. He missed only one shot. He got 12 points. He played for 30 minutes. He showed why he is an important part of this team.

Hats off as well to Doyle for getting a bucket in his only shot at the end of the game. I can imagine he was feeling the pressure of thousands of fans chanting his name with fewer than 60 seconds on the clock, but he managed to get it done.

Of course, Aaron got another double-double. It looked like he was doing much better with the ankle than he did at Georgetown. Hopefully this weekend he can put up another double-double before pointing his finger at the Marquette student section.

I hope that Antonio Graves was not disappointed with his night. He didn’t get the double-figures that Aaron and Levon did, but he had a quality game tonight. His shots might not have been going in, but he put up an impressive 6 assists. When the shots aren’t there, getting it to other guys who are scoring is just as important. He has nothing to hang his head about tonight.

With five players on the team ending in double-digits tonight, there were lots of bright spots. Bouncing back from the awful shooting this past weekend, the Panthers shot over 60% and hit 50% from 3. That is what we have been missing lately.

Levance ended up with a game-high 14 points, all coming after half-time. That is what is going to be clutch in March. When the game is on the line, that sort of Carl Krauser-esque momentum will be huge.

I’m glad to see Pitt finally shake its relative funk of the past few games, and finally break that disappointing run of senior night losses. Let’s ride this surge into this weekend and ruin Marquette’s GameDay.

As I stated before Levon Kendall wears the Pitt jersey and no one after tonights game has the any reason to come down on him. He has played well the last couple of games. I hope he keeps it up. It was a good game by all!!!!!

Great game. Also, good job to you guys for showing up in full force tonight. The Oakland Zoo was back, that’s for sure.

  3. Verle Says:

yea it was great to see the zoo back. so awesome to send them out with a loud arena

  4. Ok, Air Bud isn't that baaaad Says:

I was the levon basher, after tonight I retract most of my comments. I just hope he wasn’t playing up to the occasion of senior night. We really need performances like this in the tourneys. Also Mike Cook, welcome back.Overall we played great.By the way Zoo, great cheers tonight.NIT, Start your tractors, and rogaine were great.

It was a great win but remember who we beat. I’m euphoric after this win but WVU isn’t in our class. They have nothing down- low. Quite possibly the worst interior team in the Big East. I can’t begin to talk about how unimpressive they are. If they started giving out five points for half-court shots would they recruit guys that win contests. They are unatheltic and soft. We are neither of those things. I like the confidence this win could give us but Marquette is next and they aren’t the hoopies. If we get a similar performance Saturday then get ready to win the Big East tournament.Sorry if that came negative it wasn’t meant to be. We beat WVU doesn’t get any better than that. But it is this WVU team, a NIT team unless they get a run in NYC.

Levon is your hero? That’s kind of sad.

  7. Keith McBride Says:

Either him, or Spider-Man, but I don’t think Spidey plays the piano.

  8. Jason Cramer Says:

Everbody needs a hero. I look up to Levon buts its got nothing to do with basketball.

I just think you can find a better person to be your hero. There is only one canadian I would even consider, Mario Lemieux, other than that none of our neighbors from the north come close.

  10. Jason Cramer Says:

Mario is the greatest Canadian that has ever lived. Except maybe Bubbles from Trailer Park Boys. If you don’t know what that is its a fantastic Canadian TV show. Watch an episode on the internet you will enjoy it.

Don’t forget about my Canadian hero, Jason Hero Bay.

  12. Jason Cramer Says:

How about a little Sid love in this place? While we are at lets just throw some love to Staal. Bret Hart is a little mad about the snub too.

  13. It needs to be said... Says:

Spiderman’s only worth admiring because Mary-Jane wants to jump his bones. Beyond that, admiring Spiderman’s a little awkward.I personally admire hockey players and guys who are banging hot chicks, hence our admiration for Levon.

  14. so? Says:

I bet Levon gets alot of hot chicks with his design shaven head. I bet.

  15. Jason Cramer Says:

I wonder who these “hot chicks” are? hmmm.. i guess we will never know

  16. Spider Man Says:

Ohh you better believe I play the piano. Levon better watch out I’ll play his ass under the table

  17. Keith McBride Says:

I rescind my previous comment. Spider-Man is now a little but above Levon Kendall on my list of heroes.Thank you for the correction.
