New Pregame Intro Cheer

As you may have noticed, the poll at the top of this page to decide our new pregame intro cheer has closed. The option that received the most votes was the Victory Song. Thus, instead of yelling sucks after each opponent is introduced, we will sing the Victory Song during the entire introductions of the opposing team. This new cheer will begin at the Lafayette game, as was stated in the previous post.

We will sing the chorus of the song twice. The proper words are shown below. These same words can be found in the Zoo News. You can also find the words on flyers that will be handed out at the next couple games.

Fight on for dear old Pittsburgh
And for the glory of the game
Show our worthy foe that the Panther’s on the go
Pitt must win today! Rah! Rah! Rah!
Cheer loyal sons of Pittsburgh
Cheer onto victory and fame
For the Blue and Gold shall conquer as of old
So fight, Pitt, fight!

Da da da da da-da Fight, Pitt, fight!
Da da da da da-da Fight, Pitt, fight!
V-I-C-T-O-R-Y!

Fight on for dear old Pittsburgh
And for the glory of the game
Show our worthy foe that the Panther’s on the go
Pitt must win today! Rah! Rah! Rah!
Cheer loyal sons of Pittsburgh
Cheer onto victory and fame
For the Blue and Gold shall conquer as of old
So fight, Pitt, fight!

At the end of this video, the football team is shown singing the Victory Song after this year’s win over WVU. They sound great. Please be patient as we transition to this new tradition. With practice, we will improve and also sound great singing the Victory Song.
